Whilst King of Scarsis a brand new story, so can be read separately, it’s best to read the other books in the Grishaverse first, starting with book one Shadow and Bone. The story follows young king Nikolai Lantsov as he tries to rebuild Ravka and fight the dark magic within him. The King of Scars books pick up back in Ravka, one year after the end of the Six of Crows series.
